Used Cooking Oil (UCO) is a high-energy lipid source recovered from the food service and processing industries. After undergoing a rigorous collection and refining process—including heating, filtration, and dehydration—it is transformed into a consistent, calorie-dense raw material.
Used Cooking Oil is a refined secondary fat product that has been processed to remove food particles, moisture, and impurities. It is a viscous, dark-amber liquid that provides a concentrated source of metabolizable energy. In the feed and technical industries, UCO is valued for its high caloric density and its ability to reduce dust during feed milling. To ensure quality, the oil is monitored for Free Fatty Acids (FFA), Moisture, and Insolubles (MIU), and is often stabilized with antioxidants to maintain shelf life and prevent rancidity during storage.
