PFAD is a cost-effective SAF and biofuel feedstock characterized by its high free fatty acid content and palm origin. Under the CORSIA and RED III frameworks, PFAD from certified sustainable sources qualifies as a SAF feedstock, providing significant lifecycle GHG reductions compared to fossil jet fuel.
Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) is a byproduct of palm oil refining. It is a mixture of free fatty acids, glycerides, and minor components collected during physical refining.
